Graphics Options
The Narrative Alive graphics are designed with careful thought about how they relate to the text. We've provided possible sermon themes for each graphic to help you choose the direction that best fits your sermon.
Option A
I Am the Good Shepherd
Sermon themes:
•
Jesus contrasts flawed, worldly shepherds with his own loving, sacrificial leadership.
•
The one true Shepherd is the one who willingly lays down his own life for the sheep.
•
Through Jesus, the sheep find safety, provision, and rest. Jesus stands between the sheep and every threat.
Graphic description:
The curved text in this graphic suggests the loving arms of Jesus surrounding us, encompassing us. The furry bodies of the sheep are intentionally not specific images, but rather suggestive that all are included.
Option B
I Am the Gate
Sermon themes:
•
Jesus is both the Gate and the Shepherd—the only way to life and safety.
•
Jesus declares himself the true entrance to God’s Kingdom. Life is found in and through Christ.
•
The Gate doesn’t lead to loss or destruction. It doesn’t restrict life. Instead, the Gate opens the way to abundant life.
Graphic description:
The gate in this graphic will be very familiar to anyone who has been on a farm. It is the key to getting in. The sun and bright horizon on the other side of the gate suggest what is waiting for us once we open the gate.
Option C
Listen to My Voice
Sermon themes:
•
The Good Shepherd knows his sheep intimately and personally. With that knowledge, he calls them by name.
•
Disciples are those who BOTH recognize AND respond to the voice of Jesus.
•
Following Jesus is more than doing. It means learning to be still, to listen, to trust daily.
Graphic description:
The image in this graphic depicts sound waves. The choice of the large type for the word "listen" is intentional. It is key to be still enough to hear Jesus' voice.
