Graphics Options
The Narrative Alive graphics are designed with careful thought about how they relate to the text. We've provided possible sermon themes for each graphic to help you choose the direction that best fits your sermon.
Option A
"I AM" - What's in a Name?
Sermon themes:
•
“Holy” doesn’t just refer to the complete other-ness of God; it also refers to the closeness and intimacy of God with humanity.
•
There is great power and depth in knowing God by name.
•
God isn’t generic; God providing a name demonstrates a relationship with a dynamic past, present. and future.
Graphic description:
The graphic captures the power of just two words, “I AM,” and poses the question of what those words might truly mean.
Option B
Shaping the Future: Divine/Human Interaction
Sermon themes:
•
God’s people have grown from small families and tribes to now a great people as numerous as the stars.
•
God sees and hears humanity’s suffering, which prompts God to act alongside Moses to address the suffering.
•
Again, God chooses to work in and through human relationships to fulfill God’s promises and bring God’s people to a new future.
Graphic description:
This graphic was created from a cityscape showing the sun's rays piercing a building facade. Here it stands as a metaphor of God's presence always coming through for us.
Option C
Sacred Ground
Sermon themes:
•
God’s call to Moses isn’t confined to a place of worship; instead, it’s out in the wilderness.
•
While Moses may not have known God, God confirms in the burning bush that God has known Moses his whole life.
•
In the burning bush, God encounters and reveals God’s plan to liberate God’s people.
Graphic description:
The shape in this graphic is intentionally amorphous. Was it an angel in the burning bush? Did God take on a form? What we do know is that it was "holy ground."
