Graphics Options
The Narrative Alive graphics are designed with careful thought about how they relate to the text. We've provided possible sermon themes for each graphic to help you choose the direction that best fits your sermon.
Option A
"I Have a Dream"
Sermon themes:
•
Can we employ Amos’ words to condemn injustice while still affirming the loving, forgiving God?
•
In times of struggle, how do we not lose hope but instead have faith, trust, and belief that God’s justice will come?
•
In 1963, MLK Jr delivered the infamous “I have a dream” speech and referenced the prophet Amos. How do we continue the dream and create a more just world for our children?

Option B
The Worship/Justice Connection
Sermon themes:
•
Worship is always connected to our treatment of neighbor. They are forever linked.
•
God is not condemning all forms of worship; God is critiquing a worship that has no engagement in loving neighbor.
•
Genuine worship leads God’s people out to serve and to participate in labors of love that care for the poor and marginalized.

Option C
Seek and Live!
Sermon themes:
•
This is more than a pronouncement of judgment; it’s a plea for repentance and a call to justice.
•
God doesn’t desire destruction; God desires genuine transformation.

The prophet is calling God’s people to seek and live into a new kingdom—one not of this world.
