Graphics Options
The Narrative Alive graphics are designed with careful thought about how they relate to the text. We've provided possible sermon themes for each graphic to help you choose the direction that best fits your sermon.
Option A
A House to Hold God
Sermon themes:
•
And you thought maintaining your church building was a lot!? King Solomon built an artistic and architectural masterpiece.
•
Built with foreign materials and foreign aid, the infamous Temple’s origins included the outsider.
•
Despite the significance of Solomon’s Temple, God’s divine presence cannot be contained within one place.
Graphic description:
The circle in the center of the graphic represents the idea of a place built to "hold" God, but the colors and motion and energy spilling out suggest that God can never be contained.
Option B
Presence & Mystery
Sermon themes:
•
The Temple symbolizes how God’s presence is simultaneously immanent and transcendent.
•
A wandering people now have a particular place where God’s people can experience centralized worship.
•
God is present in every detail of the Temple, in every vessel and sacred space, Yet God’s glory transcends all anyone can see or know.

Option C
Wholehearted Worship
Sermon themes:

For one day, everyone came together and worshipped as a unified people. Imagine the excitement of the ordinary person who now has a place to encounter the sacred.

Worship isn’t just a place. It’s our beginning. It’s our starting point. It’s our foundation that guides every aspect of our lives.
•
Worship without justice and love of neighbor isn’t worship. We are called, gathered, and then sent out into the world.
